It’s Cold Outside…Which is Why YOU Should go to the Beach!

by Joanna on October 19, 2009

If Sand Shack hasn’t made it clear enough, we believe the oceans are important.  Which is why we will be partcipating in Clean Ocean Action’s Beach Sweep Cleanup this weekend.  Each year Clean Ocean Action, an organization dedicated to improving the water quality off the coasts of New Jersey/New York, organizes beach cleanups all along the New Jersey shoreline.  With the summer sun long gone, now is the perfect time to get out and cleanup our mess.

Sand Shack will be volunteering at the Stone Harbor, NJ site.  If anyone is interested in joining Sand Shack’s team or would like more information, please email joanna (at) sandshack.com.  All Sand Shack volunteers will receive a free Sand Shack hat.

If you are still interested in volunteering but cannot join us in Stone Harbor, please take a look at the other beach sweep sites.  Bring a friend and spend a few hours saving hundreds of animal lives.  All sites are stranger-friendly, so all you have to do it show up and start cleaning.  If you do have any other questions (what to wear, what to bring, etc) please feel free to leave a comment, email me, or visit Clean Ocean Action’s website.  We hope to see you there!
